First trip to the zoo!

One thing D and I didn't do very well in the beginning of our marriage is cherish the moments we had with each other and with our families. It has taken some hard lessons, but we have changed our priorities and are taking time to enjoy the small things, not stress over the big things, and love a little bit more. One of the small things we got to enjoy recently is taking our children to the zoo for the first time together. The weather wasn't cooperative, but we enjoyed it all the same. We ate popcorn, saw the animals, took pictures, attempted to stay dry and just enjoyed being together.

Heyward loved the elephants! He sang "March 2, 3, 4..." just like on Jungle Book.
And he learned that bamboo trees are yummy to gorillas.

Laurie Beth stayed warm and dry in the stroller and smiled the whole time!

Brotherly love....

Laurie Beth is a survivor. She has survived Heyward's wrestling matches, Heyward's fast running episodes, Heyward's new shotgun that Becee and Bop bought him, Heyward's attempts at washing her in the bathtub, I could go on and on. The fun thing about Miss Laurie Beth is how much she loves her brother. He can pretend she is a Dove and shoot her with his rifle all day long and she still just thinks he is the greatest thing in the whole world! I can't wait to see how their love for one another grows.

Hey's First Field Trip

Miss Cam's 3K class took their first field trip last week to the pumpkin patch. I had to go with my class so D had the honor of going with specific instructions to take lots of pictures (preferably not of Heyward's back as he runs in the other direction!) Daddy did an excellent job and it looks as if a good time was had by all. I say it all the time, but I truly can't believe how big Hey is getting...taking field trips....I am crazy about him! He is so much fun and so caring. He definitely has my heart in his hands.

Kindersoccer

Heyward recently finished Kindersoccer with the Y. I managed to snag a few cute pics of his season. He did in fact score a goal during a game! He said,"I kicked it really, really hard in that net." I was even more impressed with the coaches! :)
