Marbles Children's Museum and the IMAX

Today we went to the Marbles Children's Museum and IMAX theater downtown Raleigh for some fun! Heyward was a little overwhelmed at first but quickly jumped right in to the crowd and started having fun! We watched a movie at the IMAX theater called Wild Ocean. We all loved it! Well, Gaga got kind of queasy. Heyward tried to touch the fish, swatted at bubbles and was scared the dolphin were going to eat his corn (popcorn). The real danger sat next to him...as we watched the movie Deda finished off the corn. Heyward didn't mind, he had so much fun and was so tired he fell right asleep after we left. I highly recommend "Marbles" if you have children and are ever in downtown Raleigh. Thanks Deda and Gaga for a day full of excitment.

Visiting Deda and Gaga, part 1

First things first, everybody knows that Waweighs (Raleigh) has the best playground ever! The whole way to visit with Deda and Gaga this weekend all Heyward could talk about was playing on the playground at Waweighs.

Second thing, must have doughnuts....everyday... in Waweighs. Honestly, we have eaten a ton a doughnuts! That was another of Heyward's requests for our weekend with Gaga and Deda, of course we HAD to oblige and eat doughnuts with him. Oh, the sacrifices you make for your children!

Practicing as "Big Brother!"

Last weekend we celebrated Da's 80th birthday at Aunt Kathy's house with lots of friends and family. We look up to Da and feel truly blessed to have him as a grandfather. D is so much like Da and Da has taught him so many things. Da has shown me unconditional love since I met him and all the Browns almost 14 years ago. I am proud to be a Brown and am even more excited that Heyward knows Da looks up to him like the rest of us.
Cousin Anna come up from Macon to attend the party and Heyward was such the "Big Brother." He let her crawl all around him and on him all while watching out for her. He also helped protect her from the scary electrical outlets! Another thing that really showed me how much he liked her was his willingness to share his ice cream with her. I hope this is a sign that he will adore Laurie Beth as much as he does Anna.

*she is so adorable and we can't wait to play with Anna again!

Snow!!!

Yep! That's right... I was sooo eager to wake Heyward up this morning and see his excitment over the snow. He was interested for a little bit and then ran off to play in his playroom. A little later I let him out to play in the snow. He just wanted to touch it and walk in it then he was over the whole snow thing. I guess he'll grow to understand what a rare thing snow is for Hartsville and enjoy it more as he grows older. Oh well...I guess we can cross out weather man off the list of possible careers for our Hey-man! Here are what few snapshots I was able to get from his first snow experience.

Ripley's Aquarium

D, Heyward and I ran away to the beach this weekend for some much needed "family time." We have been so busy with the holidays and our schedule is filling up fast with other events and deadlines. Laurie Beth is due in less than 12 weeks and we felt the need to do something fun while we are still just a family of 3. We went to Ripley's Aquarium, walked around the costal grand mall, ate out and had a blast! Heyward kept saying to us all day yesterday, "Momma/Daddy we had fun didn't we?" I did start to stress out a bit over the fact that these little outings will be harder to come by or negotiate after Laurie Beth comes. D reassured me that all would be great, even better with another one in tow!

Walking in his father's footsteps...and clothes:)

Becee and Bop gave us some of D's old clothes that he wore when he was about the same age as Heyward now. One of the ones I love so much is a camel colored corduroy blazer. It is adorable! The other morning I let Heyward wear it to school. I couldn't take my eyes off of him! Gosh I love this child!!!!!
