School's out for Summer!!!

Last day of school water party!  I am not sure if I am ready for 5k, but Hey is!  Prayers please.  Hey stood beside me recently and he is growing so fast, if this keeps up he will be taller than me in just a few years.

Since school got out we decided to go somewhere and do something fun till the pool opened.  Our first trip was to the zoo in Columbia.  We had so much fun.  Heyward, who has been to several zoos and aquariums, told Laurie Beth all about each animal as if he were the keeper.
Daddy has fished and I must say I am very happy he kept on his sunscreen, long sleeve, fishing shirt!  The boys won some prize money on the last tournament!

Kids getting a lesson on boating from Uncle Ed

This confirmed my suspision that she might be an actress.  She never saw Titantic, but she knew this move would get titantic reviews!

Also, comedic and dramatic on the putt, putt course

Hey is not as much the actor, more so the down to earth country boy!  He loves all things fish or any sport!

Another trip we did was to Discovery Place in Charlotte with friends from Hartsville!

I highly recommend Discovery Place!

Some say I can't deny her....

what do you think?

Summer time is here...

...and I plan on soaking up every moment of it with my children!  It seems like every year, I plan less stuff for D and I and more for Hey and LB.  The question used to be big, "What will D and I do?  A trip, cruise, ect.?"  Now it is quite simple, "What can I do with the kids that is fun today?"  I have plans for many pool days, trips to the zoo, vacations at the beach, and occasionally kidnapping D (Daddy) for a picnic lunch.

I been told endless times how fleeting childhood is, and that my children will be grown before I know it.  I have the automatic response of, "yes, I know."  Man do I understand and my babies are still babies.  I can't imagine how I'll feel when they are older.  I wish I didn't have to know this feeling, I wish I could rewind and relive some of my babies moments.  That can't happen, so I dedicate this summer to them and being able to watch them grow and make memories.

Easter and Florida

We just returned from our visit to Crystal River Florida, home of Gaga, Deda, Manatee, and Love Bugs.  Here are a few pics of all the fun things we did!
fishing with Deda off the dock that is right outside their back door!

Laurie Beth had a new bicycle waiting for her when we arrived at 2:30 in the morning!  D and I had no trouble going to sleep, but Gaga, Hey and Laurie Beth stayed up until 5:00 that morning!

Conoe/Kayak trip on the Rainbow River
we saw beautiful homes, river otters, a water snake, a tiny alligator, and lots of birds

lots of beautiful old homes

The next day we rented a boat and went cruising.  We also did a little fishing and caught a stingray, a few poisonous catfish and some snapper

The Easter Bunny was able to find Hey and Laurie Beth and left them some treats!
Our friends Cara, Conrad and Peyton came over to celebrate Easter with us.  We had an egg hunt, yummy steaks and attempted a photo shoot!

A little late afternoon fishing before bed!

We went to eat at "Neon Leons" a cajun restaurant in which the owner is said to be the brother of Leon in Lynard Skynard.  http://www.neonleonszydecosteakhouse.com/  They had a fun cajun inspired two man band that entertained.  Laurie Beth really got into the music and danced the night away.  Heyward was asked to help play the "necktie."
I really loved getting to see my good friend Cara.  I miss her so much and she lives tooooooo far away!
