Weekend Warriors...One Year Later

D and I have been true "Weekend Warriors" while working on our new "old" house.  We have so many great ideas about what we want to do.  All we need is an endless supply of money and time in which neither are available at our local hardware store.  As I look back over all we've done during our weekends this first year I am amazed at the transformation and how things are coming along.  A lot has been happening inside as well, but I will wait till we get a little further along to post.

We went from this...

to this.

Border grass, rock infusion (mess) to...

neat, trim rock wall.

 This...

and this,

to this.

From this,

this,

 and this...
to this!

Here is part of our back yard when we first started,

and now after some TLC.

One of our bathrooms started out like this

and this...

 now is being completely remodeled,

but still in progress!
So much has changed in just a year!  I can't wait to see what we get accomplished in this next year!

Heyward's first baseball season

Heyward played his first season of baseball this spring.  He improved so much from the first day of practice till the last game.  I loved watching him.  It brought back many memories of my softball days and how much I loved being a part of a team.  We are more than happy to follow him in any sport/activity he wants to try and baseball is just the beginning!  He is laid back, relaxed and handles coaching well.  I look forward to what my big boy has in store for me.  He has definitely grown his own opinions of what he likes, doesn't like, what he will do and what he will not do.  I love his tender heart and how when pushed, he rises to the occasion.  His personality reminds me so much of me.  I wish for him the best this world has to offer and I will be his biggest fan along the way!

Laurie Beth's first dance recital

Laurie Beth had her very first dance recital this past May.  If you know Laurie Beth, you know what an eccentric dancer she is.  We are not sure where she got her personality from, since D and I are for the most part quiet and reserved, but she is over flowing with confidence and boldness.  I love her for that and wish I could be more outgoing like she is.  Her personality is tough to deal with at times, but I am told it will be a positive attribute later in life!  I am so proud of her and all of her dance buddies for doing a great job.
"Baby Take A Bow"

On the way in with proud big brother Heyward (who was also excited to see his other "girl" friends dance)

She not only danced but sang the whole song!
