I have so much to catch up on, but I promised myself this would get it's very own entry. D and I recently celebrated our 5th anniversary. We celebrated by running in the bridge run downtown Charleston then heading out to The Sanctuary on Kiawah. It was heavenly! D and I met in 9th grade Spanish class at Hartsville High School (which we both had to re-take if that tells you anything!) I stood about 6 inches taller than him and basically could have bench pressed his body weight (wearing a book bag!). He just got his drivers permit and have an old red Nissan truck.Our first date was to whatever restaurant came into to old "Depot" building. We both got french dip sandwiches and spent the rest of the evening driving around until time for me to be home. Since that night we have only had a handful of days in which we were apart. I wish I could say the rest was history at that point, but all good love stories have bumps in the road right? I have survived and he has survived. We pray a lot more, talk a lot more, date a lot more, and have quit sweating the small stuff. I am sure the next 5, 10, 15, 20.....will be eventful, but I pray that God will continue to bless us just as he has these past 5. He has given us the most precious children and enough battles to face that when we loose sight of what we should be doing, we are quickly drawn back to one another. I love my children so much, but I am totally, head over heels, crazy in love with D!
